DEAD X HEDZ
Rap Group
Seth Binzer (aka Shifty Shellshock), best known as the frontman of Crazy Town, passed away on June 24, 2024, at age 49. His struggles with addiction and personal demons had been long and well documented. Shifty sought to transcend past formulas and revisit his voice with fresh urgency. He found an artistic allies in Sid Wilson and Mike Rebel, who provided a raw, uncompromising platform. Dead Heads was conceived, not as a revival, but as an evolution.
Dead Heads merged the visceral grit of punk, the attitude of rap, and the dark textures of alternative production. Shifty voiced from bruised places, regret, resistance, inner demons, redemption, and the blurred lines between self and spectacle. The music is both confessional and confrontational, often pacing between aggression and melancholy. The aesthetic intentionally leans on stark imagery, distorted faces, decay, urban shadows, echoing visual sensibilities and the theme of inner fragmentation. Though Dead Heads never had the chance to fully realize its trajectory, its promise remains haunting and potent. It stands as a testament to Shifty’s undiminished hunger to create, to push forward instead of rest on old laurels. Dead Heads was the final creative incarnation of Seth “Shifty Shellshock” Binzer, a project born from unrest, reinvented hope, and unfiltered truth. Launching under Vomit Face Records, Dead Heads stands as Shifty’s last bold statement in a storied life and turbulent career. In passing, Dead Heads becomes part of Shifty’s larger legacy, a final artistic plea, a question left unresolved, and a testament to a soul who never stopped trying to find his voice in the noise. Dead Heads is a powerful return to form and a testament to Shifty’s unbreakable spirit
